Mission Lazarus Refuge
Mission Lazarus Refuge is a 1,250 acre working ranch located in Jayacayan, Honduras. The children who live there take part in regular chores of a working ranch, including caring for livestock and maintenance. Each child is provided an education and is taught other vocations as well, including horticulture, carpentry, blacksmithing and sewing which provide them with skills that will serve them well once they leave the Refuge. Our goal is to produce well-rounded, Christian men and women who can take care of their families and be responsible citizens of their country once they leave Mission Lazarus Refuge. -
Educational Ministry
It is through education that a developing country makes the slow transition to become a developed country. In the same way, it is also through education that a new Christian learns how to bring others to Christ. Mission Lazarus has five education projects located in the towns of Choluteca and San Marcos de Colon, Honduras. -
Medical Ministry
The medical ministry functions as an instrument for the people it serves, people of minimal financial income and great medical need, to know Jesus and His Church through direct medical treatment, health education, and direct and indirect evangelism, never denying consultation due to lack of financial resources, and always allowing for glory and recognition to be given first and foremost to Jesus and His Church using Christ’s own example of Preaching, Teaching and Healing. -
Vocational Schools
Vocational trades are a valuable skill in Honduras. With that in mind two years ago we began the construction of a vocational trade school on the ranch that would not only provide a vocational for children from the Refuge but also for children in the many surrounding villages. When this school opened in February of this year we hoped to have between 20 and 30 kids for this first year. Now in our third month and we still have over 55 kids faithfully attending school. See some of the pictures. -
