    How is Honduras?

School in Choluteca has now been out for 2 months, summer vacation? Wrong, the teachers are on strike.

4 children have died in the last month, gang related? No, a wreck? Wrong, they were sick and the national hospital is on strike.

Elderly lady sick with cancer and hemorrhaging turned away from the local hospital yesterday, no insurance? Wrong, no idea how to treat her. She goes to the capital to the national hospital for treatment, receiving treatment now? Wrong, that’s the hospital that is on strike.

An 11-year-old boy died last week in Choluteca; his Dad beat him to death, in jail now? Wrong, family members were too scared to turn him in. Child protective services took over to see justice for the little boy? Wrong, they don’t exist here.

Still dry in Texas, yeah, know the feeling, still dry here, good thing the 1000’s of effected & hungry farmers here will be able to apply for government aid. Wrong, I forgot that does not exist here.

Locals are now scared to travel on the 13th and 18th of every month, superstitious? Wrong, scared of the gangs that claim those days as their own.

Met a two-year-old girl suffering from Hepatitis A the other day, receiving treatment? Wrong, Mom did not have the $18 to pay for it.

Saw that U.S. gas prices are back up, in Honduras too? Wrong, never went down after they hit nearly U$S 3.00 a gallon.

In Honduras: New pair of shoes for a child, $10.00; Hepatitis A treatment, $18.00; Support a needy child and family for a month $25.00; Prayers for the hungry, prayers for the sick, prayers for the poor, prayers of thanksgiving for what you have in the U.S., & prayers for the safety of a young American trying to make a difference one day at a time, all of that is PRICELESS!

Too many needs for someone in the U.S. to do anything. Wrong, ask me, I will show you where you can start.

Thank you all for the many prayers, words of encouragement, & support.

    I love what I do.
